Upper park is for Dog Walkers off lead - so pick nickers and groups should stay to the bottom half of the park They are a constant irritation. If your sausage role is stolen - don't blame the dogs - it's their space Stick to the lower part where the Ducks are. Great park easily accessible by the number 61 bus.

9 reviews of Thompson's Park "This is a really lovely little inner city park. It has quite a quaint atmosphere and is a really delightful place to take a book and while away a few hours. Its on two levels - the upper level is a considerably sized field, great for kids to play games and sports on whilst the lower level has some really mature flowers and trees and a lovely little stream feeding.

Thompson's Park, Cardiff. Located in Canton and one of Cardiff's oldest parks, Thompson's Park was originally called Sir David's Field (Cae Syr Dafydd). Originally there were stones numbered from 1 to 17 and these can be seen on copies of Parks Department plans held in the Local Studies section of the Cardiff Central Library.
